Description
On a frosty February night, Taranis was born thundering in 1991, in the once veiled and mystical underground of Poland. Even if their existence was over after only a few years, a masterpiece remained. Taranis have sealed their place in history. They are still important pioneers of Polish Black Metal (such as Xantotol, Christ Agony, Mastiphal, Graveland, Behemoth and many more). Taranis were inspired by different influences that were represented at that time. Other bands leaned heavily on the Rotting Christ, Sarcófago or Bathory sound. They played it, changed it and started something completely new. But the guys from Taranis found the greatest inspiration in the Swiss black metal band Samael as well as in the dark and poetic art of Tadeusz Miciński. The complete work for “The Obscurtiy” is dedicated to this Polish artist and to all those who follow a similar path of dark arts.
30 years later, we want to let this darkness blossom again…
